PROGRAM ASSISTANTS
In order to be a Program Assistant, skaters must at minimum turn 12 within the skating calendar year and have completed all Program Assistant training sessions as designated by the PA committee.
All skaters who are eligible to be a Program Assistant must assist a minimum of 1 session per week or pay an extra $200 at registration for a 20-week period.
Under the above age you may volunteer with permission of the PA committee.
All Program Assistants must be on the ice at the start of Canskate session. If the Program Assistant is not on the ice at the beginning of Canskate session, they will not be credited.
Our Program Assistants are an invaluable part of our club. In order to recognize them, we will be awarding one Program Assistant with a Yearly Award.
The criteria for this award is as follows:
Ø Attendance – being on the ice on time for the session and being at your scheduled sessions.
Ø Attitude and respect towards the professional coaches, other program assistants, parents and children
Ø Group movement – keeping the children moving
Ø Using initiative leadership
Ø Wearing clothing as provided by the club for the Program Assistant
Each Program Assistant will have to submit a post dated cheque in order to receive their jacket. If the jacket is returned in good condition at the end of the season, the cheque will be returned to the Program Assistant to be destroyed. If the jacket is not returned or is returned in damaged condition the cheque will be cashed to pay for the jacket.
