11 Club Skaters competed at the first ever Skate Atlantica competition April 6-7, 2013 in East Hants, NS! This event brought together skaters from Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.

This past weekend, the club was represented by a number of our Competitive and STARSkate skaters at the 2013 Provincial Championships in Clarenville.
Another strong and successful showing by club skaters! We earned the Chatman Trophy for the Club with the Most Points, and had 15 Skaters Qualify for Skate Atlatica to be held in Halifax, NS in April!

At the 2013 Avalon Interclub competition held this past weekend (February 23, 2013), the club was awarded both annual trophies for Most Points and Most Improved Club!!! Congratulations skaters!!!

At this event, a number of our CanSkate Skaters entered the Skate to Standard Assessment events. These events are the early stages of introducing competition to skaters, where skaters are assessed on circuts and skills. Each skater who participates is awarded a personal certificate with their status. Our younger club skaters did very well in this portion of the event! Congratulations!!!

The 2013 Synchronized Skating Championships was held February 15th and 16th, at the Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay, NL. Our club was well represented by Five teams, Elementary Starlites, Juvenile Starlites, PreNovice Starlites, Open Starlites and the Classic Edges.

After the Shot Program, Robyn-Lynn and Matthew were in sixth place with a score of 27.95; with a personal best freeskate scoring 56.16, they moved up to finish in 5th place overall with a Personal best Overall score of 84.11

The Novice Pairs Team of Robyn-Lynn McGrath & Matthew Power have qualified for the National Championships to be held in Ontario in January.

Jenna Efford (Juvenile Women) was named the winner of the Polaris Artistic Cup, for the most Artistic Skater in the Competition.
Additionally, Grace Woodland, Ashley Bishop & Robyn Lynn McGrath (Novice Women); Sophia Burke (Pre-Novice Women) and Robyn Lynn McGrath & Matthew Power (Novice Pairs) have qualified for the 2013 SC Challenge/National event to be held in December in Regina,SK!

The Mount Pearl Skating Club was represented by four of our fabulous Senior Skater this past weekend in Barrie, ON at the 2012 COS Octoberfest Invitational Competition.
Ashley Bishop (Novice Women) finished her flight in 10th place; Robyn-Lynn McGrath (Novice Women) Finished her flight in THIRD place, earning a BRONZE MEDAL; Grace Woodland (Novice Women) finished her flight in 6th place; and Matthew Power & Robyn-Lynn McGrath (Novice Pairs) earned a BRONZE MEDAL in the Novice pairs event.

Please be advised that effective today, Tuesday August 8, 2012, there will be NO ACCESS to the rear parking lot of the Glacier for the foreseeable future. This is due to construction requirements associated with the Reid Centre Expansion Project.
All patrons using the Mount Pearl Glacier Rink 2 over the next number of months are asked to please park in the front parking lot (on Olympic Drive) and enter Rink 2 via the red doors next to the Rink 1 entrance. For those of you who may require wheelchair access, you are asked to please enter thru Rink 1, use the elevator to get to Level 1 and enter Rink 2 via the interior walk-thru connecting the two arenas.
